What exactly is the "dangers" of using the Steroid Cycle?

And if you are unlucky/ do enough cycles, it permanently messes with your testosterone levels. When that happens you won't be able to gain muscle from working out, and you gain fat at an increased rate. You can fix it temporarily by doing more cycles (but eventually the doctor runs out of his supply of steroids) or it can be fixed permanently by finding testosterone injections (these are kind of hidden in this version, but in the next update there will be an easier way to get them.)
For the 5 curses already in the game, kind of but not really. I think I mostly want them to remain breezy and be about just messing around. But maybe at some point I'll change my mind on that, who knows.
Eventually I'll start working on the Curse of Love, which makes the game more like a dating sim, and that will be a lot more story-focused.
