The retinal scanner on the app doesn't work. Tapping the pieces just snaps them to opposite ends of the screen, preventing progress from being made without the VR player physically walking through the door.

May I ask which device where you using for the Hacker app ?
In order to complete the retinal puzzle, drag one piece and drop it on the correct position to latch it on the pattern. Try holding one extra second when dropping the image to its correct position (you should see a green highlight appearing).
