Another drop slipped down into his open mouth. A low groan bubbled up from his chest and he lapped at the wounds on Dee's wrist. Soon Virgil gripped Dee's hand with both hands and suckled, drinking the new life like nectar.
After several minutes, he fell back, panting, pale, and very much not dead.
Dee lifted Virgil back up, his hand placing itself on the middle of his back as he let Virgil's head fall onto his shoulder, the light smile now a bright and bubbly one.
