When I hit N and M at the same time while doing the book puzzle it started playing dialogue I'd already seen before.
Also, with the mirror thing--it's reasonable to have that go off if I interact with the mirror. That's cool. Having it hinge on my 'not looking in its direction' is a bit ludicrous.
Figuring out how to get out of rooms is unreliable, and not indicated. Running around pressing things isn't fun.
Honestly, when I was told what the 'kill trigger' was, I certainly remembered the clock and kettle and thought it was going to be /those/ levels of frustrating.
