CAN'T SAVE DATA

I read your instructions and I got the "config.rpgsave" and three files with their back up but its not working all my progress vanished and I still can't save the data.

P.S:

I didn't see the global.rpg file you said.

You were able to find the save folder, and inside there were some files ending in .rpgsave? Such as file1.rpgsave. Because that means you have created a save file successfully.

What happens when you say you can't save? When you load up the game again, do you get to choose which save file to load (manual or quick), or are you forced to sit through the entire introduction again?

Note: if you really can't save your data MAKE SURE YOU HAVE UNZIPPED THE TAILOR TALES ZIP FILE, AS YOU CANNOT SAVE WHEN IT IS NOT UNZIPPED.

Thanks for the reply!

Yes I unzipped the game first as you told others too.

I can now do quick save idk how but the manual save is still not working as in I click manual save option but it doesn't appear on screen. And I tried extracting/unzipping the game again but this time the inside folders like "screenshot" and "save" were all empty.

I'll try downloading it again.  Hope so it might work. It would be better if I could use manual save option this time tho.

Ah! And while playing the game the "Screen hang" happened. I had to open and close game many times because screen gets stuck whenever I clicked save option .

Thanks for the hardwork!

It can be irritating sometimes to answer same thing many times. Still I'm really grateful for the answer! ( ╹▽╹ )

Hmm this sounds like Tailor Tales is too much on your hardware if you are getting a lot of screen freezes, and can't even seem to launch the manual save file.

Have you tried switching to your back-up save file? That one might work. Instructions:

1. Open your Itch App and find Tailor Tales. Click the cogwheel, then click manage. Then click 'open folder in explorer' and browse to this location:
`Tailor Tales > www > save`
2. There is a file in there called **file1.rpgsave** and that is your main file. Rename it to something else, such as "file1_old.rpgsave".
3. There's another file in there called **file3.rpgsave** and this is your back-up file. Rename the back-up file to **file1.rpgsave** to set it as your main file.
4. Open up the game and load your manual save file; you should now be running from your back-up file.

Sorry for the late reply!

Nope didn't work...

I tried to download it again too...

The game runs fine on my laptop but now that I have downloaded it several times the "save" and other folders in "www" are still empty so I lose progress.

I couldn't use the method you told me because I don't even have the "save" file now.

Other than that my internet was working fine too and there was no disconnection when I was downloading the game. So I don't know why I didn't get these files.

Is there a way I could get those rpg and backup files separately (Sounds like I'm finally spewing nonsense  ♒‘(T∩T)’♒ )

This game is so good and addicting that I'm not getting over it lol.  I wanna play it so badly please  ಥ﹏ಥ

Make sure Tailor Tales is in a folder with admin rights, that lets the game have permission to write and edit files (so that a save file can be created).

Open up the Tailor Tales folder and browse to the Tailor Tales > www > save folder again. Keep it open. Then launch the game. When playing the game, and going through the intro, save when you are in the main menu. Check the sav folder - did it create any files or not? If it didn't, it means Tailor Tales doesn't have any permission to read/write/edit files in that folder.

Actually since you said the folder is empty, there is no back-up file to be saved anymore. Sorry, but your progress is now lost completely :(
