So my school went online recently due to a teacher shortage so I thought this would be the perfect time to try out a game jam. I started 2 days ago and it's going pretty well so far.

It's a game where you play as a little snowman, the sun is rising and you need to get to the goal (a freezer) before the sun rises or you melt. There are also a few powerups that work like the dash orbs in Celeste, where you have the powerup until you use it or you land.

A bit of level 1

Some power ups (more might be added)

So far it's going pretty well, I'm surprised on how much progress I've made in these past 2 days. I'll update this whenever I add something new, I mean it is a devlog. That's kinda what you're supposed to do.

Oh and if anyone has an idea for a title that'd be great because I haven't thought of anything.

Just added a background switch that happens multiple times when the timer hits certain points. I also updated the sun sprite to make it actually look like a sun. So now I can actually start the level design.

I had an idea that the name of the game could be Melts, I just think it seems right to me.

Added a new powerup, the ice cube. This allows you too ground pound, and lets you break through certain objects. I thought it would take longer but it took like 20 minutes.

Halfway finished with level design, 5 down, 10 to go.
