There's already an option on animate to "stack" frames, so it only uses 1 instance when there are multiple frames that are the same. I've been using that since the beginning, and yet...

Damn man... that really does suck... You may be right then. "Out with the old and in with the new" may be the only way and solution soon...
Sorry, I got nothing more. Learning on a new platform or engine is tedious work in it's own right though...
and just to think, you pretty much just started this game... That's not only frustrating, that's just down right discouraging... I always wondered how some flash artists keep their games so small and compact. Smaller resolutions probably...

Just to think, I was really hoping there was some kind of temporary solution here within... No idea though. Like I said, best of luck. I tried. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help. I hope you find a solution or someone that actually knows flash inside and out will speak up and help you. Other than that,

Don't let discouragement distract you. Learn from the negatives. Find the positives... keep moving forward.

Just keep at it. It'll all work out as long as you don't quit. Who knows... maybe learning on something new could make things even easier and be fun eventually ^_^ Learning can be fun too...
When and if you do... just remember to find that same passion way back when while you started working with flash is all... That's the trick. Best advice I can give. You got this far... and you even pretty much completed a game before. I know you weren't entirely happy with it but I for one actually really enjoyed Space Escape. "If you did it once, you can do it again." In the words of John Greenleaf Whittier "Don't Quit" You got this.
