Downloadet it like 5 times so far trying to install but everytime it fails and starts downloading again..

Hi Archon -- I believe itch.io has fixed this issue. There is a new version of the itch.io launcher: 18.7.0. This should fix the problem you're seeing; see also https://twitter.com/fasterthanlime/status/773678754371698688

We've added the following to our FAQ:

If you've already downloaded the game via the launcher, look for AvenColony.exe in your itch install directory (or search on your hard drive if you don't know where that is). It should say 0.1.12852 BETA in the lower left corner when you run the game.
Failing that, we recommend downloading directly from the itch.io website. Players who download directly, without using the launcher, are reporting no issues."

Thank you for your input. I downloaded this app after downloading direct from itch.io because that didn't work. Betas eh?

Downloaded the .zip file directly after i bought the game, not using launcher.

and the game started and runs fine.

Aavak's play is what got me to buy the alpha. I boarded the hype train willingly, I'd just like to get off now and enjoy the destination. ;-)

Looks like itch.io made a fix to the launcher that should fix it -- make sure you have 18.7.0 or later. I'm informed that they're also making a ton of improvements that should improve downloads for huge games like ours once the next version of itch goes live.

I never had the launcher. I downloaded the file, unzipped it, and tried it run it. It says it needs Runtime 2015, which was successfully installed, but then fails to launch.

hey guys just found out about this game and bought it imeaditly but im getting system error (api-ms-win-crt-string-|1-1-0.dll) am i missing some drivers or is it another problem, im getting the same problems with itch 21.0.4 and the zip
