Dont extract launcher.
Black screen - console you mean? It should have some kind of error inside, if game is not launching. Would be helpful to check that, i need to know what kind of error.
Usually its 3 types
-no correct Java installed (you got 32 bit instead of 64 etc etc)
-no videocard (you have integrated intel video for example)
-not enough memory (game needs 4gb+ and pref most of it empty)
