yeah she's also just transphobic and homophobic and racist and all the things. And looking back in those books, it does show quite a bit. Which is part of why I sort of feel like as a collective, we need to move away from them as a coming-of-age novel for young adults. There are less problematic, frankly better written novels out there that can have the same level of inspiration and influence. Just take the Percy Jackson series.
Exactly. We are just fans of some parts and some characters and some concepts but some of the things… not in our swamp. Btw there’s this novel I really like called Everything I Never Told You and it’s really cool. It’s about a girl who died and her family falls apart and they begin to find out secrets about their dead child and stuff and I didn’t explain it well but it’s a really good book
