Hi there, I am DragonExplosion and I am a Youtuber. If you like my videos, please leave a like and subscribe at my channel.

This was a short horror zombie shooter that has a clear storyline about the main character trying to escape the sewers with his badly hurt teammate. The game is quite straightforward regarding game mechanics where you need to shoot the zombie a couple of times before the zombie dies. However, a lot of backtracking is required in the game and the zombies tend to be placed near corners that are definitely meant to scare the player. I felt that the surroundings and tasks tend to get abit repetitive overtime, having to backtrack and get back to the required location and the zombies are quite fast and take time to kill. It would be better if there was more variety to the gameplay of the game. Other than that, I think I encountered a sound glitch where I can hear zombie noises after I died even though they are not present.

The invisible zombies are definitely a glitch and I'm aware of this issue. I also do hear your thoughts about backtracking and repetitiveness. They’re definitely some elements I want to avoid in my games.

Really cool fps shooter, it was really fun :) I didn't really like the blood splatter particles, they were looking weird. I also found a few bugs. I opened my inventory and press ESC to close it but the cursor stayed on the screen and I had to click/shoot to make the cursor disappear, just a small bug. And also after finding the fuse I heard zombie noises behind me all the time but there wasn't anything behind me, a really weird bug. Also, the gun and hands are not affected by lighting and I know that is because they are not rendered on the main camera because they have a separate layer but I think it just looks weird.

Overall really nice game, I enjoyed playing this and I love fps survival horror games :) Keep up the great work  can't wait for the continuation / full game

I’m glad you enjoyed playing. However, I’m a little sad you didn’t like the blood particles. I was actually quite pleased with those. Before, there was no blood or body disablement in the game. That being said, I can definitely improve those particles at some point. Obviously.

  • I’m aware of the annoying mouse cursor issue. It’s going to be fixed in the next update.
  • I do also know about invisible zombies. I don't exactly know why they are invisible. It's still a big mystery to me.
  • About the lighting - I’m going to take a closer look. You are right, that the hands render with another camera. That’s for preventing the gun/arms clipping through the walls. However it shouldn't be hard for me to adjust the lighting to match.
  • The zombie AI does also have some flaws. I will improve those as well.
  • I’m working on a new level to be released early next year. This includes new and improved weapons and animations as well (both levels).

Yes there's going to be those kind of weapons too. I'm also working on a mechanic to craft molotovs etc.

I also noticed by the looks of your page, that you make games too. You have released quite a few, I can see. Which of your games can you recommend for me to review?

none of the video options in the menu work. i click on the left and right arrows to try and change them, but nothing happens. they stay at their default values. just trying to get better fps so the game can be playable

A new version is up. I have added quality settings into the "Display" options. The resolution settings should work as well. Likewise I have removed all the settings that didn't work for now. There are definitely more methods, I can use to make the game run even smoother, but it will have to wait, because I'm working on other projects as well. I'll have a huge update coming up early next year.

A great game, but with uncomfortable moments in the HUD part and right at the end of the demo, where the flashlight stops working, having to wander in the dark. Other than that, the game has great potential. Congratulations on your game.

I’m sorry about the flashlight glitch. I probably forgot something when I did some changes to the camera on the keypad. Good thing you showcased it. I’ll fix it right away.

I’m also aware of these invisible zombies, which spawn from time to time. I don’t exactly know why that happens. I'll hopefully find out eventually.

Lastly, can you describe to me more clearly, what you meant by uncomfortable movement in the HUD. I don’t think I know what you mean by that?

Hi, Aces. About the HUD, it seemed quite simple, you know? The Inventory menu, the amount of ammo and health remaining... Anyway, there was something that didn't make that good first impression on me. Anyway, that was what bothered me about the game. But, it's just my humble opinion. I hope I have resolved your doubt. I'm waiting for the final version of this game, which is really cool.

Oh I see. I misunderstood your explanation then. I do agree that the HUD seems poor for now. It can definitely use some polish, and it will come eventually. Designing that kind of stuff isn't my strongest suit. That’s why it’s very basic for now.

I have a new version coming up around next year. With new and improved weapon types, various enemies, a new level and a lot of improvements to the main game, such as better AI, puzzles, crafting etc.
I’ll probably have a teaser released within a month or two.
I hope you will like it.

Thank you for playing Drained. I’m glad you liked it. Too bad your video was a bit laggy. I hope the game did run smooth for you however. Either way I enjoyed watching.

You deal more damage if you shoot the zombies in the head.

I suggest you wait with Unaware. I have a huge update coming up soon. Hopefully in January. The game will include 4 new areas to explore. I will let you know, when the time comes.

Unfortunately, you were playing the first version of the game. I have made some improvements since the first release. The shotgun is way better now, and the game performance is way better too. It runs a lot smoother.
Of course, I’ll keep adding new content to the game on a frequently basis.

pretty fun but you can become trapped if you shut doors behind you, I don't know if that is deliberate, very atmospheric though fun game

The doors aren’t supposed lock behind you even though you close them yourself, UNLESS you are talking about the orange door with the sliding lock. That’s on purpose. You need to climb the pipes.
If this isn’t the case, please let me know about the specific door you are referring to.

I was enjoying every minute of your video. I loved your jump scare reaction the quick crawler did to you. Haha.
I agree about the missing “damage taken” notification. A lot have requested that. I’ll add that to the game in the next update.
The ”samurai” sound isn’t the gun, but for indication of a new quest. I’ll probably change the SFX at some point to something more suitable.
I can’t tell which version you were playing, but the shotgun has been improved a lot in the recent version. It really was trash before.
The crowbar doesn’t have a functionality yet. I have temporary removed it from the game. I’m sorry about the confusion.
I’m aware of the issue about the mouse cursor appearing on the screen. It happens because you are using the ESC key, when exiting the inventory/menu. Unity does this for some reason. This issue has been bugging me for quite some time now (In my other games too), and I still haven’t found a solution yet.
I’m glad you found the shell ejections cool. I thought so too and it wasn’t really not that hard to implement.

I laughed, how you panicked, and turned your flashlight off by mistake. Good stuff 😊
The animations were rifle animations on both weapons. I replaced those with a discrete animation instead.
I have also nerfed the pistol, in damage and fire rate.
Now that you mentioned it. It seemed odd the rolling door didn’t needed power. I agree with you. I might have an idea to make it clearer for the player.
The crowbar doesn’t work and isn’t important yet.
Anyway, I’m glad you liked my game so far.

Pretty cool game with claustrophobic vibe. I found myself getting pretty immersed SPOILER (especially when you get the shotgun.

I played it I think it has a lot of potential. For obvious reasons I wont talk about the length, but I did have a few comments, I like the fact the zombies crawl fast at you. Most games have slow crawlers so I like you went away from that trope, I also had some complaints so to say. One the hit box on the zombies seemed to be weird in the video I shoot at one zombie where I should not have hit and did, and another where I shot and should have hit but didn't so I think their hit boxes just need to work. I also think the spread on the shotgun should be increased at least a little, since unless you are shooting a slug the shot goes everywhere. But if these two small things are my only complaints then that means you got a good start and I can't wait to see more from the game

The water effect causes the fps drops. Even though the player camera doesn’t render the water, it still causes the issue. I need to find a solution.
In the version you played, the weapons didn’t have any fire rate. I have fixed that in the recent version. You can’t spam the pistol anymore.
The pistol damage has been reduced also.
The shotgun’s spread angle can be increased. Perhaps I’ll increase it. However, it’s still possible to kill three zombies at once.
The zombies have two hitboxes. Head and body. It’s not perfect, I know, but it will have to do for now. My plan is to make it possible to shoot of body parts. Likewise, I want blood splatter.
Anyway, I’m glad you had a great time playing.

so my ONLY complaint was that this game is too short! I was really getting into it then BAM! It ended 😢 haha regardless I had a lot of fun playing it! Here is my video!! I hope you enjoy :)
