Kappa was in his secret grotto full of human treasures, admiring his latest finds. He noticed the shadow of something large on the surface.

Charles was celebrating on his boat, what was he celebrating, the overthrowing of his corrupt father of course
while other people celebrated though, he was off to the side, looking into the water
(Mmm yes-ze rich white man-)
Kappa swam up towards the surface, curious. As he got closer, he saw dancing lights on the water(fireworks). His eyes lit up, entranced. He surfaced above the water and looked at the starry sky and the fireworks, eyes wide
as he leaned over to get a closer look at something on shore, his pocket watch fell in
“Agh! Shit!”
“T that was my mother’s! Shhiiiitt…”
"Hf-"
Kappa saw the pocket watch falling and caught it, looking down at it and tilting his head curiously
"What....is this?"
He looked up and saw the boat-humans...there were humans!!! His lips parted, staring at the boat as he swam closer
he was still up there…now in a sour mood, looking into the murky waters
Kappa swam over to the boat and climbed up the rigging on the side, peeking up over the edge of the boat and watching with pure wonder.
“well…might as well get some more champagne”
He turned around, catching a small glimpse of kappa
“W wh-!”
Kappa didn't realize anyone had seen him, he was still just watching excitedly, eyes sparkling and lips parted, snow white hair blowing in the breeze
“W W wow…that boy must be strong…and h h he looks…stunning! Considering h he’s j just been swimming…”
