He hugged Pepper closer to his chest, protective of him. Pepper looked warily at Isiah.
He heard Ezra quietly talking to Pepper, cupping him in his hands, sitting on the edge of the bed, Pepper responding with chirps that Ez could clearly understand.
"...I-I don't know Pepper....well, he is very handsome...a-and kind....-but I don't know him! A-And he doesn't know me....m-making all these grand declarations of love it-...i-it's too much, and I know I should feel flattered b-but I just feel-guilty....a-and sort of scared-w-what if he does something stupid because he thinks he loves me? T-These things take time.....W-Pepper, just because I've never been in love doesn't mean I don't know anything about it!!
