I love zombies, never gonna stop loving zombies, all the haters can leave!

It’s got a good twist with the Zombie survivor, it seems well built, sturdy even, and while zombies are not “original” I love them, so 4 stars on that front.

I'm not a fan of zombies, but this I like. The dice pool system is constrained, but a nice way of working with the limited probability space of a d6. The target number being dependent on the character and their damage is an interesting notion, but I'm not sure that ranged should map so closely to melee here. The ever escalating zombie threat fits the theme of the game as well, with noise always going up.

The zombie survivor thing touches on the Jam theme of redefining failure, but it's not a close match. The Zombie survivor can't contribute to a victory, though they can help prevent other players from winning, so having your survivors die is still less than ideal, for all that they gain their stats back. These rules also aren't doing anything particularly original, but are otherwise a fairly strong bit of small design.

It's a fun idea, and an obvious concept for the theme; zombie hordes are an obvious way to have your dudes still doing stuff after dying. The way they do health is also nice, with it being direct damage to stats rather than a critical existence failure. With the game stretching out to 10 rounds I'm not sure that it'll be easy to actually have any survivors left by the end of it, the combat can be a bit of a tarpit, but with the number of attacks out there from just zombie hordes and other players, I wonder if you'll get several games with only zombies or one side desperately trying to not get eaten by the hordes by the end of it.

Yes, i think we might have made it a bit too long. When we played it it worked out, but i can see how sometimes it may become a stalemate where everyone just dies. Something i will look into after the voting is over.

A small mistake:

The Skills are supposed to be numbered for the purpose of the damage roll!

Melee - 1
Shooting - 2
Defence - 3

Doom, despair, death. The fearless undead ravage the earth, humanity is hanging by a thread. Yet they still find the strength to fight, to fight through, to fight… each other.

With this game we aimed to create dynamic mechanics, stuff like:

  • Noise, which can both doom you by swarming you with zombies, as well as help you defeat your oppenent by giving you control of the movment of the zombie horde.
  • Death is incremental, as your survivors deteriorate before their heart finally stops. Then, as the infection takes control of their body, they may become more powerful than you could possibly imagine!
