A place to post songs or music that seems fitting for the place/setting/themes/characters of FIFO!

And, first of all: A song of rural Australian longing that seems damn fitting:

"One more day, one more hour,
One more petal falls from the back-veranda flower,
Maybe then I’d find the words to say,
But I’d probably just piss it all away,
I’d lie awake a lifetime in your arms,
And I’d never do no one any harm."

It is pretty different in overall character, and in its American-ness, but the story this Magnetic Fields song tells is sort of very similar-- standoffish insecure gay guy rebuffs a guy attempting to get closer, but eventually uncharacteristically warms to him:

"I like your twisted point of view, Mike.

I like your questioning eyebrows.

You've made it pretty clear what you like,

it's only fair to tell you now:

that I leave early in the morning,

and I won't be back till next year;

I see that kiss-me pucker forming,

but maybe you should plug it with a beer, cause

Papa was a rodeo, Mama was a rock'n'roll band;

I could play guitar and rope a steer before I learned to stand

Home was anywhere with diesel gas. Love was a trucker's hand.

Never stuck around long enough for a one night stand."
