Aight-numero uno-

When your life reaches a serious low point, you are approached by a vampire who offers to care for your every need, in exchange for allowing them to drink your blood periodically. They find you a new job, pay your rent, take care of your student loans, and keep you in perfect health. Despite the growing intimacy between you, they don’t seem to want anything from you but your blood. This arrangement works out pretty well for a while, until you start to develop feelings for your vampire benefactor.

Dos:

«You just have to ask, My liege, you know that».

The King looked at his Guide, not directly, like he was watching something beyond his sleek and elegant figure. He didn’t dare lay his eyes on his face, he was too afraid of what he would have seen in his hazelnut irises. The King inhaled, and slowly raised his gaze and finally locked eyes with him: determination was burning in those eyes, and he could also read some sort of pleading in them. Just as he expected. But surprisingly, there was a hint of something else: desire? Did he crave so much to completely donate himself to him? In that exact moment, he felt his throat burn even more than it had in past few days.

«You don’t have to do anything like that, there’s no need; I won’t accept the barbaric sacrifice the clergy wants to offer me. I’m not the monster they think I am, nor the cruel god they worship.»

Then he added, with a hint of melancholy in his voice, «You should know that.»

The Guide inclined lightly his head and stood up, approaching him. He then took his face in his hands, making him raise his dark blue eyes on him again. «You can’t spent another week without it, My liege, you are growing weaker day by day and right now it feels like I’m touching a brazier; your skin is literally burning. Besides, who you would feel more like touching: me, or the young maidens those degenerates think you would appreciate?» The King snorted, in disgust. «I don’t think I need to answer that. But I don’t need no one, least of all you, to do something like that for me. I didn’t ask for this body, I didn’t ask for these powers, I didn’t ask for… these needs.» Again that hint of melancholy in his voice, couldn’t control it either this time. He saw his Guide’s olive-skinned thin face furrow with sadness. He was right; the lack of “it” was making him weaker, and vulnerable. «Heavens, I’m wining like a little child; look, I just need more sleep, that’s al...»

«No.» The King opened his eyes wide in surprise; that was sudden. «You never say “no” to me, where did all the “as you command, my liege” went? And just when I need it the most.» The Guide sighed. «You made me do it. And I’ll make you listen to me this time, My liege. You’re right, you didn’t choose any of the things you mentioned; I didn’t choose some things either. But I did choose to follow you, even if my status of guide doesn’t imply that. And I chose to give you my absolute loyalty… and all my love, all my soul… and now I’m saying my flesh and blood are yours too.» The King instinctively took one of the Guide’s hands and pressed his boiling hot pale lips on it. «I’m… I’m so tired.» Still squeezing his hand, the king muttered: «What if… I can’t stop?» «You can’t kill me, my liege, did you forget that?» «It still hurts you though.» «I’ll tell you when, sounds good? Now, please, I beg you.» The King finally stood up, he was few inches shorter than the Guide, but the latter always felt loomed over when he stood in front of him. Not in a bad way, he was always his King, after all.

«Don’t beg. Do what you did before.» The Guide looked confused, and a little intimidated.

«May I beg you pardon, My liege?»

«Command me. Make me listen to you.» The King leaned even closer to him, dark deep blue abyss against gentle spring seeds. «Well, fine, if you insist. Plea… err…», the Guide cleared his throat, and looked more decisively at his King.

«Take it. Take my blood, it’s yours… Bite me.»

Smiling kindly, the King took the Guide gently by the hand and lead him towards his four-poster bed; the Guide sat without saying anything, while the King, his King, was slowly untying his silver silk shirt, uncovering his neck and chest. The Guide’s breathing became heavier as the King was getting more closer.

«As you command, my Guide.»

Every Halloween for as long as anyone could remember, someone went missing. It was shrugged off as coincidence, that Halloween was an opportunity for a kidnapping. But those who were taken were never found, and no evidence ever came up to point towards a kidnapper. It was like they simply vanished.

One Halloween night when you were a child, you remember walking along with your friends. You were separated from them by accident, and wandered through a secluded area of the city.

Suddenly, someone grabbed you, placing their hand over your mouth and hefting you up. They carried you into a dark alleyway and deposited you on the ground.

You whirled around to face your captor, trembling in fear. He looked like a normal person, but his skin and eyes seemed odd. They were waxy and somehow didn't quite seem right. You tried to scoot away from your captor, but behind you came the voice of someone else.

"No, not that one," a smooth voice said from the shadows.

The man with the strange skin scoffed, crossing his arms, "You've never been picky before. Why now?"

"You must never harm this one," the voice responded almost gently, "Take him/her back."

"Fine," the man responded. He reached for you. You tried to evade him, whimpering in fear. He growled in anger, "Come here, you little mongrel."

From the shadows came a growl. Suddenly, you were scooped up in gentle arms, pulled into the shadows. "It's okay, little one," the being cooed softly, carrying you towards the entrance to the alley. The shadows moved around them as though they were part of them. The being deposited you gently just outside of the alleyway. "Run along. There's no need to be afraid."

You could not see their face, but their eyes glowed red from the shadows. A moment later, they were gone. And you were alone on the street.

Years had passed. Now, as an adult, you stood at the entrance to that same alleyway on Halloween night.

You had never dared come back for so many years, but something about tonight had drawn you to this place.

You cautiously entered the alleyway, eyes searching through the darkness. Had all those things really happened? Or was it the overactive imagination of a child?

But a smooth voice came from the shadows then, confirming your suspicions. "Hello, little one."
