...Yep, he had held a, what seemed to be. broken plank, might've been the thing that did what it did to the Boy. He seemed...almost empty, his eyes kinda looked blank and he held his arm, swimming past Ezra...and taking the boy from his arms, and towards the shore...

He broke down into sobs, hugging Atlas tightly from behind

"A-Atlas-I-I'm so sorry-y-you were r-ight-I-I-I s-should've l-listened to y-ou-"

He didn't really respond...in fact he just kept swimming, though he did not force Ezra to let go, his body felt oddly cold, of course he wasn't dead lol, but...he just felt bone chilling...not much longer till shore...

He was sobbing and shaking and so, so heartbroken and he really, REALLY needed him-

His hands began to clench tightly...he looked down into the water...shaking slightly-

It was like he was his own bubble so to speak..-

"I should've just took Ezra too the ship, and kept him there, then maybe this fucking human wouldn't have said what he said...and this damn kelp needs to get off of me..-"

He slightly shook around, as if he was to shake something off-

He saw the tangle of kelp and carefully freed him-then swam in front of him, looking up at him with his sweet, sad, heartbroken face-

"A-Atlas..."

The shaking slowly stopped...and Atlas looked at Ezra...Jesus, h-his eyes were just...so dark, his once beautiful shiny black eyes...turned into a stare of nothingness...suddenly tears began to stream down his face, and yet his expression didn't even change a bit

"...I wasn't even able to keep the prince safe...it's all my fault..."

He smiled and the tears became more...frequent
