She shrank back

She looked around frantically for a way to sneak out but failed to find one-

He looked around

it was a small cave with little pools and flowering trees in it-aaaand one wide-eyed mergirl

"Shitshitshit-u-um-"

She dove into one of the pools trying to hide despite the fact that he had already seen her-

"You look beautiful, why are you hiding?"

He tilted his head in a confused way while looking where she was at, his eyes then turned gray.

"I can see through things"

She peeked her head up

"U-Um no-nope uhhhhhhh-you're just imagining things! I'mmmmmm-imaginary-yeah!"

He blushed while looking up and down at her

"I can see past your cl- Okay I am?"

His eyes turned back to green, shiny and pretty as an emerald

"Hf...."

She blushed a tiny bit looking up at him

"Yeahhhhhh...what are those weird things on your eyes!?!?"

She lightly tapped at his sunglasses

"I mean like what the heck are they for!?"

"Sorry shouldn't have looked at your body with my ey- Oh sunglasses, they block the light when it gets too bright, and stop touching them"

"Hm-oh, sorry!"

She stopped

"Huh-I guess that makes sense-damn, humans really have inventions for everything!! Ok welp-thanks!! ...Now which one of these leads homeeeee...."

She looked at the pools curiously

"Ummm...hmmmmmm....damnit, why can't I ever remember anything-UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-"

She flopped back into the pool, floating on her back

She peeked her head up

"U-Um no-nope uhhhhhhh-you're just imagining things! I'mmmmmm-imaginary-yeah!"
