if i buy the most expensive version on here do i own the game or just that build?

You will only get access up to the build you purchase

How is that supposed to work? As you update the game people have to repurchase it? I was genuinely about to buy this until I read that question and subsequent answer. I see no reason to buy a game you will keep making me rebuy for "updates"

We sell the game "early access", we do not force anyone to buy it. You can download the free version from the patreon or wait for the next version to become free. We sell/reward patrons only the current/new version. Once you can buy the full version of the game in steam a little later as it will be released in 2022.
