Cinder slumped in the basement of her apartment, exhausted. It had been another long night of working on the car, and she guessed there would be many sleepless nights ahead if it was going to be ready by the ball. She didn't regret saying no when he'd asked. Any number of things could go wrong-from slipping on the stairs and flashing the prince a sexy metal thigh, to running into Pearl or Adri. People would talk, gossip channels would look into her past, and pretty soon everyone would know that she was cyborg. She'd be mortified. Kai would be mortified. But she couldn't help but wondering...what if the would didn't care? What if no one cared that she was cyborg....and Lunar...yeah. That was some wishful thinking.
