I did. And we haven't even gotten to the JUICY stuff yet-also for reference, we are now approximately at chapter 12 of this book.
Prince Kai watched through the glass as a medroid inserted an IV into his father's arm. Only 5 days had passed since the emperor had first contracted the fever, yet it felt like a lifetime. Konn Torin, his father's adviser, clapped a hand on Kai's shoulder
"It'll be alright..."
Kai's father moaned, opening swollen eyes. His room was comfortable, but the glass separating him from Kai served as a reminder-this was a room made to keep the living separate from the dying. From inside the room, his father lifted his blue tipped fingers from his blankets, the closest thing he could manage to a wave.
"Prince Kai...-"
At that moment, a very familiar android burst into the room, chased by multiple medroids and doctors/guards. Iko had painted a shaky, dripping red medical cross on her head in a desperate attempt to pass as a medroid
???: "GET BACK HERE! YOU'RE NOT AUTHORIZED TO BE IN HERE-H-HOW DID YOU EVEN GET THIS FAR-"
"K-KAI!"
She quickly wheeled over to him, wrapping her pronged arms around his leg and hugging it tightly
"Kai they took her-t-they took Cinder-"
