Kai was MISERABLE. He went up to the surface everyday to sing in the hopes that maybe Ren would hear him, that maybe he would see Ren again-

Kai saw him and his eyes lit up with pure JOY-

He crawled up onto the beach as quickly as he could, struggling but not caring
He hugged him back just as tightly, burying his face in Ren's chest
"I-I-I was so scared-I-I thought they had hurt you-a-a-and it was all my fault and and-I-I-I'm so sorry Ren-"
