"Mh...take a seat." 

She gestured at the seat across from her





He sits down, eager to know what the future holds.

"...."

She studied him for a moment, staring into his eyes. Her own eyes seemed to burn brighter, like they were peering into him, staring straight into his soul...

The staring was making him nervous, be he didn't mind as long as he knew what happens.

She blinked a few times, then looked away. She reached over to a tea kettle over the fireplace and poured some tea 

"I can't tell you your future."

"What? Why not?" Zane looks confused.

"If I tell you, it'll unfold differently. You won't get the outcome you want-trust me, you're better off not knowing."

"Oh." Zane relaxes a bit. "Well . . . Thanks then." He hands her a bag of coins. "I'll be on my way" "He smiles at her before he closes the door. 

"Ah-Wait!" 

She ran out of the shop and handed him his bag back 

"I can't take your money-I didn't actually do my job-"

He looks confused. "What do you mean? Sure you did. You didn't exactly tell me what happens, but you did tell me that something bad will happen if I do know the future. So why?"
