While most of what he said was true, the part of him having nothing to do was a lie...he knew he had to hep the kingdom yet he knew he wouldn't be able to kill him...
(So I'm gonna cut in here-first off, Siren's kingdom is actually INCREDIBLY supportive of him. They all love him unconditionally and believe that he can do it-which is why he feels so guilty and like he can't/doesn't live up to their expectations. Two: the kingdom's actually under a curse. It causes the sharks to be more susceptable to tradgedy/accident, making them sustain more and more injuries and often resulting in their deaths. So it's not really a-he can just shrug this off type of thing.)
