His mother could see right through him. She looked him in the eyes

"Siren...no one is going to hate you if you can't do this. We can find another way-"

His smile slowly crumbled away, knowing he couldn't fake it so there was no point in lying

"I know that mother, but it's the prophecy, if i don't do it....who will?"

"..."

She looked away. Selkie cut in.

"The beacon KNOWS our prophesy, prince pup. He came here willingly. I bet he wants to die!"

"Selkie, Silence! You we're not told to speak, now we're you? Listen Mother....i have no choice and i know that, i promise i will make our kingdom proud..!"

"....."

She smiled sadly

"...alright Siren. I trust you..."

He took a deep breath started swimming into the castle, while not pleased with even himself, he knew what he had to do...

As he headed into the dungeon, he began to notice a golden glow coming from one of the cells

(1 edit)

"That must be the beacon....phew...alright Siren, just remember that this is for the kingdom..."

He slowly swam up to the cell, wondering what the beacon would look like....also quick question, does Siren have like a blade or something, oooor is he gonna-, or well would've tried strangling him lol

He has a spear so he can reach through the bars of his cage and stab him. He got closer. The beacon was facing away from him, sitting with his tail tucked under him. His scales shone a brilliant gold, giving off a warm glow. He was unlike any Mer Siren had ever seen before, painting or otherwise. Small fish swam around him, attracted by the glow.

Ahh, okay-, He held the spear up, pointing it to the ceiling as he looked at him...almost amazed at the sight he was able to see....yet he also felted slightly guilty that he had to kill him..

"Hello...beacon"
