Software used
My own game engine made using SDL2 and C#. A custom Tilemap Editor. Aseprite + paint.net.

Use of the limitation
The limitation was implemented through using cutscenes to convey the story. They aren't great but i think work decently well to convey the plot. And no text was used except in the main menu. Also the 'rush' theme was implemeted as the protaganist rushing to get the radio.

Cookies eaten
2 home baked chocolate chip cookies as my brothers ate the other ones ;-; + a glass of milk ofc

The cutscene in the beginning managed to convey the plot to me, I went to look for the radio and got it, so good job on that! However, there shouldn’t be a text saying “go back to start” as it goes against the jam’s limitation. The skid marks that the cart leaves behind is a nice touch. The controls however are too slippery. There were also lots of collision problems, but running over people to get my radio was fun. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I know the collisions are manageable at best and that the movement could need refining but as this was a jam i didn’t really have time to fine tune those aspects but im glad that you atleast it abit!

I got it to work mate, may I suggest modifying the zip file folders? Have a shortcut for Proj.exe on the root folder so that it's easier for players to press it and start the game. The game idea was cool good job, needed a bit of music and move was kinda fast. UI wise this is how it showed when I started it. It's cool that you used your own engine for that, reminded me of the good ol' times with XNA. Cheers

Yeah i wanted to add sounds but i didn’t have time. Will definetly add that to my next jam game tho!

it didn't work for me?

Developer

hmm it should work. Did you see a window pop up and then it crashed or did it just not open?

Submitted

when i played from the zip file nothing happened but when i opened the file after extracting I saw the cmd window for a split second then nothing

Developer

ok i think this might’ve been a oversight with dependencies i’m gonna see what i can do.

alright looking forward to it

Developer

Done! I used the wrong export option in .NET. The one i was using is for local machine use where the dependencies + .NET core is installed. Should work as intended now.
