License?

Salutations, I know you stated that you would just like credit for using your sounds in a game however I was wondering if we could get more clarification.  Did you have a particular license in mind for these files?

If not, would you be ok with the files being distributed 'as is' within a zip?  Like in an Addon for World of Warcraft for example.

Hello, I would kindly ask you not to redistribute my work unless it is within the context of a game (so actually integrated in your own work/game engine and not redistributed as raw files). You may use my work under Creative Commons, provided you are using the audio files as intended (i.e. using them as integrated game engine sounds which are only heard when running your application, and not as reposted/redistrubuted material). If and when you are using my audio within your published game, you must provide credits to my profile. Please do not repost my assets outside of your game engine or application. Thanks.

I am happy to follow the spirit in which you presented how you would like your sound files used.  Thank you for clarifying.  Its a shame really, some of those stingers would have made lovely attention grabbing alerts within the World of Warcraft addon systems.

While I am no lawyer, I don't think the Creative Commons license really fits with what you want done with your files.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the respectful reply. I'll take a look into licenses and brush-up on my knowledge of them. I'm glad you find the sounds appealing, however I'm afraid to disappoint you but they really are intended to be used with one's own executable and not as mods or addons to already existing games. I'm currently branching into the modding community myself, so I'm sure you can understand that I would like to provide the addons myself, rather than a third-party re-publish my work (even though it's currently free-of-charge). Please do get in touch if you have any questions or advice - I'm glad to receive any criticisms or tips as that's how people grow as creators! Take care, I appreciate your politeness.
