It's a bug, it doesn't finish there.
If you have the item in your inventory and click the "Use Laptop" option in the menu you should get the corresponding scene.
I'd recommend going on the discord, instant messages often helps when trying to find an issue, and there's a chance that you might have to send your savegame.
