She flicked her wrist, causing the people in the room to freeze in place

The fairies were the only people in the room who knew what Maleficent was here for. Merry interrupted Malefifent before she could hurt anyone. "Stop! We won't let you touch the prince!" (Sorry I also don't remember a lot on sleeping beauty- I think that I have a disk of it if I do then I'll watch it-)
"Hm...oh, but I don't think you can stop me..."
She raised her staff up, green energy swirling around her
"...The prince will be beautiful and virtuous it's true...but-before the sun sets on his 16th birthday, he shall prick his finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel, and die!"
With her spell cast, she let out an evil cackle, before disappearing with a swirl of her long black cape
A while later, the king and queen were watching the spinning wheels burning from the castle window, the huge bonfire in the town square a reminder of the darkness that had befallen their kingdom. The queen clutched her baby tightly, eyes wide with fear. They had done all they could but deep down they both knew-it wouldn't be enough.
