"What book?" He snatches the book out of Thea's hand. He let out a short, sparky laugh. "Ha! Romeo and Juliet? I- I mean it's a great story I suppose . . . How about . . . I'll be your Romeo tonight if you go out with me?"

He reached up, trying to grab his book back

"I'm not interested-now may I please have my book back?"

Gaston frowned. "No. You can only get this book back when you go on a date with me."

"Gaston, I've said it before but I am just not interested in you or anyone else for that matter-there's plenty of boys in this village falling over themselves for the chance to go out with you-why can't you just ask one of them?"

He stood on his tiptoes, trying desperately to grab his book back

"Well then .  . . No book for you . . ."

He jumped up and managed to snatch it. He grinned

"You were saying? Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get home to my father."

"Of course . . . Of course! Your Father will let me marry you."

"Hf-"

Thea's eyes widened

"No, he wouldn't. Papa would never-and I don't want to marry you!"

Gaston almost stepped in the mud puddle beside him. "Of course you want marry me Thea." He leaned in to kiss Thea when-

Thea quickly shoved him away, causing him to slip and fall straight into the mud puddle. He ran off, quickly heading back home

"Sorry Gaston, but I don't deserve you!"
