My original idea for this was for the "alternate history" theme to be a lighter hearted version of the show For All Mankind where the space race never ended and we had super advanced space tech. The game piece was going to be that you run a custom spaceship shop and people come to you with a description of what they're looking for and you have to assemble parts to meet their specifications.
It quickly became apparent that I wasn't going to have time to make much of a game and so I just focused on the "assemble a spaceship from parts" mechanic and ended up with this kinda interactive VR toy.
