ADORABLE- OK- UH- WHO STARTS???

meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-

You were attending an auction-that in and of itself was enough to cause whispers among the members of polite society. It was rare for them to see you, the  estranged young master, out and about-even rarer to see you interacting with the upper class. And yet here  you were, attending a formal event. Were you here to bid?

Dalton wasn't here to bid. He knew that gossip would fill the streets if he was at an auction. Which would anger Father even more.

A bell chimed pleasantly, indicating the start of the auction. The rustling of silk and crushed velvet filled the room as the gentry filed into the bidding room and took their seats.

Dalton hated auctions. He hated that anthros were just slaves to people. He would figure out a way to free them someday.

The auction began, hunters wheeling their prey onstage in covered cages as the auctioneer spoke, hyping up the crowd

"Ladies and gentleman, people of all ages, boy do we have a show for you tonight! These fine specimens have come from tribes all throughout the wilds of the outside world, savage places. We have some truly rare and exotic breeds tonight, all yours for the taking! Will one of these lucky anthros be your new pet? Let's find out-without further ado, let the bidding begin!"

(1 edit)

Dalton felt like stopping this altogether. But he kept a smile on his face for the cameras and watched the auctions. He was going to save them anyways . . . Right???

the auction drones on, with nothing really catching Dalton's eye. If-and this was a big if-he was going to get a pet, he wanted it to be special-the perfect pet for him. Finally, they were getting close to the end of the auction.

"Alright everyone, coming up next we have a truly rare find-found in a small fox clan, one of the last remaining in the wild, this beauty's unique coloration and delicate features make it a standout amongst it's fellow anthros. Ladies and gentleman I present to you-#AL169!"

The hunter dramatically took the cover off of his cage and the crowd erupted into gasps and murmurs of excitement

Dalton stared. He wanted the fox. The auctioneers voice echoed in his head. one of the last of his clan.  . . Without hesitating, he stood up and said, "10,000" (sorry idk a lot about auctions O-O)

"alright, alright, $10,000, can I hear $20,000, $20,000 anyone-"

???"20!"

???:"30!!"
