Otis was crossing a street when he suddenly stopped in the middle of the road, staring wide eyed at nothing.

Milo was staring at his phone, so he didn't notice that he was about to bumb into someone.

Otis stared at the empty space for a moment, freezing up-then started screaming his head off

Milo fell on Otis. He got up, offered his hand to help him up, and said, "Sorry . . . I scared you a bit . . ."

And yet-Otis had been screaming before Milo EVER bumped into him-and he wasn't even looking in Milo's direction. But the idea that Milo had startled him made much more sense than the alternative-after all, what reason would he have had to get scared like that?

Otis didn't take his hand. He was shaking like a leaf, eyes wide, struggling to speak

"N-N-Nm-"

Milo was worried now. "Sorry . . . I didn't know that I scared you that much. I have some tea at my house. Will you forgive me then??"

"N-Nnn..."

He slowly started to calm down, taking deep breaths. He muttered to himself

"It wasn't real Otis...i-it wasn't...i-it's never real..."

Milo picked Otis up like a small child. He carried him all the way to his apartment and placed him on his couch. He gave Otis some of his blankets, and said "Stay here, okay?" He went to go prepare some tea.

"...O-Oh...kay..."

Milo places a cup of tea in front of Otis. "Well . . . Drink up"
