My wife is a printmaker and has been curious about carving linoleum blocks with our Xcarve. I dug up an old image of mine I thought might make an interesting test subject. Anyways, I'm really happy with our initial results!

Nice! What do you use to print with, ink? paint? I'd like to try this myself. So far I've only made halftones, and only black on white, but I've thought about doing something like this, or cutting a negative into a chunk of graphite and using it as a mold to cast rubber stamps which is a bit more involved.

The Conformal toolpath is fun to make "copperplate" looking halftones too when used in combination with the Parallel or Spiral toolpath types:

It usually takes a bit of finessing to make something that looks really good :)

We used Speed Ball water based block printing ink. There are some really interesting possibilities with mold making for sure. I've been wanting to to carve wood blocks and try Japanese wood block printing.  Before I bought your software, I had been using Halftoner, which works pretty good, but is pretty limited. I love half tones, but the biggest challenge I have is after the carve. I always fuck it up when I try to fill in the marks with paint, and then paint the surface, or vice versa. One of the things I love about your software is the ability to stack tool paths. The combination of the Conformal path with the Spiral or Parallel looks awesome! I will experiment with that next week.
