How'd you setup the servers? btw great game

Hey, Shards! Thanks for checking out RetroBots Online! I'm really glad you enjoy it!

To set up a server, you'll have to port forward the port your server host uses in the game. You can see the default and adjust the port if necessary on the Host screen, and you can see the port for the current server on which you're playing in the bottom right or left corner of the in-game menu (click Esc while playing). Port forwarding is different for every router, so I suggest looking up port forwarding for your router or watching some video tutorials and then fishing around in your router's settings until you find how to do it.

You'll also need your external ip address. You can Google how to get this, too - you can find it on a few different websites. Then give your friends your external ip and your port if you changed from default, and they should be able to connect to your server after you start the hosted game.

Let me know if you have trouble or need more info! Hope this helps! Thanks for playing RetroBots Online! Hope you enjoy.

Thanks! I have not yet had time to setup a server (been volunteering at a camp, just got back) but will do so whenever I convince a buddy to join. Is there any chance someday we could work together to make a game with similar server setup?

Honestly, I like this game better than Supermechs. I'm a Legacy player of Supermechs, from when the game was good before it became trash. RetroBots Online has the perfect vibe to it :)

I'm very glad you enjoy the game! Unfortunately, since graduating and getting into the work world, I haven't been able to find time for video game development. However, you can do a Google search on GameMaker Studio networking! I bet you'll find some good tutorials on there. I hope you learn lots and enjoy developing a fun game!

Alright, thanks!
