He dodges and ends up behind AK in a blink of an eye. He always was an excellent swordsman...

"You were saying?"

He swings for AK's midsection but he-

Catches the sword with his gloves. The sword was sharp. And cut through his gloves. The cut went deep into his arm. (He missed the sword when he caught it a bit) AK winced at the pain but he picked picked his sword up, tripped you and it seemed like he was going to cut your neck up but instead. He put it right by your neck. AK bends over and whispers softly into your ear. "We need to end this Varian. We have a chance to end this endless war. They kicked you out because you're a different race. (Idk .-.)  You have magic. What do you say Varian? Truce?

A shiver went through his spine at feeling AK's warm breaths against his ear, blushing a little. He looked up at him, lips slightly parted. He stared up into those amber eyes and for a brief, shining moment, everything was perfect and they were just sparring in the training grounds again and he was happy-

His eyes darkened and he glared at AK

"I will never end this war."

He disappeared

AK just stood there. Suddenly tears started running down his face. "Selfish. You're so damn selfish Varian. Damn it!  Choosing a country over a person should be easy right!?! Why can't you be mine Varian?"

He went back to his tower hidden deep in the woods and flopped back on his bed, staring up at the ceiling, frustrated tears starting to drip down his cheeks

"AK...why must you be the hero..."

AK went to sleep crying..thinking about Varian...

the next morning

The next morning,  AK noticed something strange as he was getting ready for the day...a piece of paper on his windowsill.

AK went over to pick it up. On it was-

It was folded into an orgami butterfly, but he could see that there was writing on it. He unfolded it

My dear prince,

Did you know that when you’re angry, you get a small crease between your brows? A small divot, but just noticeable enough… I love seeing that crease. Do you know that’s why I tease you?All so I can see that one little divot.

But what I truly want, what I crave more than anything in the world, is to see your smile again. That soft, dimpled smile...I’d kill to see it, just one more time. To admire it.

I miss you.  I just wish you could understand that. The fighting, the wars...it’s all for you. All so that I can see your face. Even if it breaks my heart, even if we’ll always be on opposite sides, I just-I want to be near you.

I love you, my prince. Everything about you. Your kindness, your bravery, your brilliant mind...you have this amazing ability to turn everyone to your side. You attract everyone to you merely by being yourself.

I wish I could be with you. I wish things could just be alright. I wish you could know how I feel...but it doesn’t matter. You’re good, and I’m not. I’m not good enough for you. No one could hold a candle to you, but me? I’ll always just be a villain. You’re a prince, and I’m just a fool. But still, I yearn for you...I love you. I know I’ve already written it. But I love you, I love you, I love you times a million…

Your trusted nemesis,

Varian.

(ahhhhhhh ima go cry now bye 🤚)

AK was crying. Out of sadness. Out of frustration."Varian".... AK decided to write a letter back. He didn't know where you were. But he was going to give it to you on the battlefield.

Dear Varian,

Did YOU know that when you don't win at something you're good at, you'll mumble about it all day? I miss your smile, too. But the country would never allow it.  We are too far apart. I wish that we could just run away somewhere. Somewhere where everyone is accepting  and kind. Somewhere where war doesn't dare touch its peaceful land. Where we could be together. But we both know that it's just a fairytale.

                                    Love you always and forever,

                                                                                          Ak.
