well at least for here, it's because the developers aren't active anymore and haven't been for years. And yeah probably, but the way I see it it's not really harming anyone

I don't really want to reveal anyone's age including mine for privacy reasons, but I'm one of the older people on this comment section. A lot of us communicate through other platforms and have heard each other's voices/seen each other's faces, so we do have ways of verifying that we are who we say. Honestly part of why I stick around here is to make sure nothing truly awful happens, there have been some troublesome people from time to time and we have had to report them.
