You would like the original Motherload that this game is based on, check out Steam. I think they have uploaded it there. Make sure to play the classic version and not the new version, and you will get a journey into almost of what you are describing. In my opinion, the original Motherload game by Xgen studios is a horror game in disguise. But the deeper story doesn't reveal itself for those who doesn't grind through the beginning of the game, which is kind of cool :)
