He closes his book and hastily flies up into the tree, causing leaves to rustle and just shaking branches, hiding in it's leaves as best he can-which isn't...super well.
The branch breaks and he falls-and he has a nasty habit of forgetting to fly when he's startled, causing frequent crashlandings-so he's definitely going to fall long enough for Elden to catch him
