When Zen gets back to the room, there's a rather large stack of papers with Ash's handwriting all over them on the table, and Ash is pacing back and forth in a blind panic

She frantically points at the papers

Okay so I'm writing this all down because my vocal chords are betraying me-that's part of it actually-I figured out what fairytale we're in. It's gotta be The Little Mermaid-seaside theme, uncomfortable seashell bra, sudden lack of voice on my part-here's the problem-all of the other fairytales have had more than one version-a nice happy Disney one, a dark as shit Grimms one-most of them have other tellings too, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty have Charles Perrault versions-the ones we were reenacting, judging by the lack of dragon in Sleeping Beauty. Going off of that though...The Little Mermaid only has two tellings-obviously there's the Disney version, but that's adapted from the original-the one written by Hans Christian Anderson and the only other version. The thing is...it's bad enough if it's the Disney one-in three days, I'm going to sprout a tail and get kidnapped by a sea witch, and you're going to have to fight it-but if it's the Hans Christian Anderson one...Zen, at the end of that one...the mermaid dies.
