If this doesn’t work for you, you could try Shanghai Mahjong for Mac and Mahjong Epic for iOS, she likes those. Or Microsoft Mahjong for Windows.

My mum also plays hidden object games, and I have a stack of those that I install for her, I think Mahjong was just her latest casual game that she can spend hours playing. :-) This is better than playing it online in a browser, since she then has issues with seeing everything, or browser controls getting in the way.
