I played Underlight when it was pay to play, at 13 years old! Recently I returned, at the ripe age of 33, and I'm glad I did. The community is great, and the advancement is much quicker than it ever use to be. It does take time to 'level up' but if you're willing to sacrifice some time for some fun, you'll enjoy it! I would say there isn't much going on during the 8-5 window, where most people are working, but the nights are easily all-nighters if you so choose. I'd love to see the community continue to grow and bring back what use to be 100's of players at any given point in the day! Safe dreams!
