He picked him up and just left the orb ready to go, he didn't want anything to so with that magic AT ALL.

The reason he's trying to get it off is because he knows that Kira gave it too him and she is something from the underworld obviously and he doesn't want his life to change.

He smiled and started walking and pushed the orb off his lap.

"Get off, I have a kid in my hand!"

He turned around and looked at it, he grabbed the orb and started walking back to his car not saying anything he just kept walking to the car.
