So essentially this game is still in open alpha, and the price will go up for the final version, but you've bought in now so you'll receive all future updates. To use magic hold Ctrl until it's charged fully and then release. The last floor is the Great Hall, and it's not complete yet. The game is roguelike, so permadeath is an intended aspect of gameplay. You'll notice however that your log books do save, and items will get more powerful the more times you play and pick them up.
