i've only just started playing, and if i'm wrong with this, please tell me. i cant tell if your stats actually go up as you level, but if they do, i think that you should be able to choose which ones you want to upgrade.

Stats other than HP and ST do not increase as you level up. Stats increase slowly through training, but mostly through gear or other "seret" means.
