Grind

It's good. I like the way the game is presented. The art is great. Writing is good. But such a long, long, slow grind to train the girls. Not being able to roll back makes this take forever. I'd also prefer to see a map rather than a tiered set of choices just going from place to place.

Developer

leequiring - The game has a travel map.  It looks like this:

You get to this map by clicking on the travel button on the top bar.  Is this what you meant?

As to the grind comment, yes we know.  It's on our list to fix.  How we will do it is that we will create a cheat menu which will allow you to increase the skill improvement you get from each success and training.  For example, instead of a 1 point increase for training, you could choose 3 or 5 or 10 or something.

The map doesn't do the job, you still have more clicks. And being caught at night traveling from the farm to Roma, you have to sleep. When you wake up, you have to make it another quest just to continue. This is what I am talking about. Everything you do has to be made a quest.

Developer

Well, in the second release coming up (not the next one) we'll be adding additional provinces and additional travel.  Kind of the opposite of what you're asking for  guess.  One click travel wont be in the game for long distances.  When you travel outdoors, you might end up in combat (vers. 3.3+)

I'll keep an eye on updates, then. Thanks, I do love the game, but I wish I could roll back to save time on bad choices.

Developer

The quick-save/quick-load feature is something that people use right now.  I know that people want to be able to roll back, but there are very few unrecoverable decisions in the game right now.

  • Do I make Zeno my partner? - Right now this does not do much.  In a soon to be released update, this is a critical decision that can't be undone
  • Do I try to seduce my sister? This leads to a whole series of unrecoverable decisions
  • Don't beat the girls too much, they can go crazy

Right now, I'm trying to determine where/when to find the merchant who will help me find Fasti's brother.

Developer

Talk to the merchants in Rome.  They will tell you (eventually) about a merchant.  He appears on on Dies Veneris (Day of Vnus) weekly in Asculum town square.

Yeah, I've been told his name and where to look for him, but he's never there. I'll figure out the specific day, then. Thanks!

Developer

Go to Asculum.  Sleep in the bedroom until the day calendar in the corner says "Dies Veneris" - that's the day he's in the town square.

Got to meet him. He said come back next week. Did that. He said come back the next week... again. Grinding, because he's not there the next time. I'll try another week.

Developer

That might be a quest error.  Try it a couple more times, please.  Hundreds of people have played that quest though

I started over, and got past it. Probably need to start over again, since I'm out of money. :)

Good news - 3.2.7 has a full cheat menu in it to eliminate the grind.
