So my canon lore is actually that Kaz tried to stay with Sam for as long as he could-
he sort of depended on Sam, knowing that he was the nicest person he'd ever been with and that he forced him to be better.
However, in doing this, he lost himself. He tried his hardest to pretend to be a good, polite person and it just-wasn't who he was.
So he broke up with Sam. He didn't really give an explanation, to be honest, just sort of...left.

Uh soooo . . Sam's born. Uh nothing really happens until the age 4. When his father leaves. I think Sam is considered nephilumn? Because the decreased and human mixes are called that. And they go against God's plans. He didn't wanna create them. So God gives his dad another chance. Go back to heaven or stay with the mom and be an enemy of millions of angels! He chose to go back to heaven and left Sam with his mom. The of Sam with his mom is a whole lot of nope. His mom hated Sam. Cuz she was Christian. There was nothing she had read being wrong with loving an angel but it was wrong to have a child. So in her eyes. He was a monster. She decided to take advantage of him "being a monster" and thought "hey! What If I just used him for m o n e y? " so then from the age of four to 14, he was stuck in a basement. Dearest mother began selling his blood, feathers, and even planned selling his eyes. Of course that never happened. She also tore off one of his wings to sell.. He was well taken care of though because he was her only source of in-come and didn't want him to die. She even calmed him down during his panic attacks. She was disgusted when giving him affection but did it so he wouldn't attempt escape. Even though he was to terrified to do so. The most painful thing to get off of him was the feathers. He has a whole 'nother thing or form he can just the things from how he actually looks. Though he had learned of that after he was kicked out. The feathers were like nails. So imagine almost all of those being torn of. At age 8 his mom had a boyfriend he had found about Sam. And decided, "I'm about rape a child". And guess what! He did that twice. 👏 good job. The second time she had found out and kicked th bf out. A few years later Sam was kicked out because the mother is living with a wealthy man now. Even has a daughter. No need for Sam.
