Mela: ...I wish you would kill me...

She looks in Annie's direction, although she can't see her

Mela: Let me ask you Annie...if I had told you...would you have killed me...? Would you have killed my friend's...we're monsters...the things you hate...

"I don't hate monsters."

Mela: Don't you? I remember what you did to the Jorogumo... don't get me wrong, I hold no love for her...but the look in your eyes when you attacked her...

"I just tend to prefer my life over others. To achieve that I must hold a deep hatred for my opponent. Which I am quite skilled in gaining such hatred in a short amount of time. It's not to monsters. It's to my enemies."

Mela: ...and most of your enemies are monsters...?

"Sure. Yeah let's say they are and humans totally don't hate me or anything. What are you tryin to get at here?"

Mela: ...Annie-I'm a monster. My entire family is monsters...almost everyone I know and love...

"So?"

Mela: So!? You kill my kind! How many innocent lives have you slain-simply because they were trying to survive! And how could I even be sure you wouldn't declare someone in this forest your enemy-do you KNOW how much havoc that would wreak!? This whole woods is a delicate ecosystem...we have to survive however we can...

"This "woods" is MINE. This wouldn't even be real without me. People kill other people just to survive. I do the same. Everyone does it. Even that woman. She has blood on her hands too. No one is innocent. Seems like you were blind before I even met you. Everyone in this forest has taken a life. I've been watching them all. I know what everyone does. Who they are. And what they have destroyed. I didn't grow a forest for creatures to go to war in. That's why I'm casually declaring them as my enimies. To get them the fuck out of my forest! None of this would've happened if that THING that brings these creatures here hadn't arrived."
