I like Dwarf Fortress in Adventure Mode because its necromancy is similar to that of Soulash's. Both games permit huge armies of unlimited undead. Aside of that, I also like ToME but you said you don't enjoy that. KeeperRL is cool and also has base building. Caves of Qud is nice. Fear & Hunger is a really weird and disturbing Japanese roguelike with some necromancy. Conquest of Elysium 4 is good. Rift Wizard might be good for you too.
