Esme: ...fine. I-today is...was...my wedding day.
"Mhmm.."
Esme: W-what!?
"Nothing."
Esme sighs, running a hand through her hair. Flowers fall out of it.
Esme: I...it was an arranged marriage...
"Oh. Those are fun."
Esme: Yeah, fun's not a word I'd use to describe it...my family's in debt so my father sold me off to our king in exchange for money...I mean, allmighty, I'm not an object!
"Wait, so you were going to marry the King?"
Esme: Yeah...
